Informal Learning Spaces

All spaces are free to use on a first-come, first-serve basis, including empty classrooms. Informal study spaces cannot be reserved, with the exception of some spaces which may be reserved for DRS accommodations.

Wireless Internet connection is available in all spaces. You may need a valid UW NetID to access the network.

Health Sciences Education Building (HSEB)

HSEB – Open Areas

HSEB 100 Lobby

The first floor lobby of the Health Sciences Education Building, an open area with couches and chairs that students can use to study.
  • No Audio/Visual
  • This space is also a special events space that can be reserved after 3:30 p.m., therefore it would not be available for study space during events.

Active Edge Hallways

The first floor hallway of the Health Sciences Education Building, with various couches and chairs that students can use to study.
  • First, second, and fourth floors
  • No Audio/Visual
  • Independent or group study options available along hallway.

Li Lu Library

The Li Lu Library is a light-filled space that features floor-to-ceiling windows and innovative group and quiet study areas, digital video and presentation technology, and a staffed service desk.
  • Third floor

HSEB – Private Spaces

Conference Rooms

A private or small group study room in the Health Sciences Education Building.
  • Third and fourth floors
  • On Husky Card access.
  • Equipped with whiteboards and a TV Monitor with HDMI connection w/ adaptor ring.

HSEB 413

A group study room in the Health Sciences Education Building.
  • Team room with 8-person capacity
  • Equipped with whiteboards, a 4K TV Monitor, Video Conferencing Soundbar, Array Microphone, and Camera.
  • Can be reserved for DRS accommodations, therefore it would not be available for study space during DRS reservations.

HSEB 419

A medium-sized group study room in the Health Sciences Education Building.
  • Study room with 12-person capacity
  • Equipped with whiteboards, a 4K TV Monitor, Video Conferencing Soundbar, Array Microphone, and Camera.
  • Can be reserved for DRS accommodations, therefore it would not be available for study space during DRS reservations.

South Campus Center (SCC)

SCC – Open Areas

Porgage Bay Area

A large open space on the second floor of the South Campus Center with a variety of seating options in sections separated by half walls.
  • Various sized study tables that can be configured for group study.
  • No Audio/Visual
  • This space is also a special events space that can be reserved after 3:30 p.m. (PBA) or anytime (300 Lobby), therefore it would not be available for study space during events.

SCC 311D

A medium-sized group study room in the South Campus Center.
  • Study room with a 14-person capacity
  • No Audio/Visual
  • This space can be reserved for DRS accommodations, therefore it would not be available for study space during DRS reservations

SCC 335

A medium-sized group study room in the South Campus Center. Seating is located around the edges of the room.
  • Four study rooms with 2-person capacity
  • No Audio/Visual
  • Can be reserved for DRS accommodations, therefore it would not be available for study space during DRS reservations.

SCC 3rd Floor Cubicles

  • Eight cubicles with a 2-person capacity
  • No Audio/Visual

  • Four study rooms with a 2-person capacity

T469 Overpass Lounge

An open space with lounge chairs and tables for group study on the Health Science Building fourth floor.
  • No Audio/Visual
  • This space is also a special events space that can be reserved after 3:30 p.m., therefore it would not be available for study space during events.

T-Wing North Corridors

Lounge chairs and ottomans line the hallway of the Health Science Building T-wing north corridor.
  • Third, fifth, and sixth floors
  • No Audio/Visual
  • Independent or paired study options available along corridor.

Health Sciences Library

The Health Sciences Library is a study and learning center with both open and private spaces for all students to gather to study and learn.
